For the Vikings campaign the game is set in 793 and is divided in two parts. The Anglo-Saxon campaign has the likes of Edward the Confessor, William the Conqueror and Earl of Huntingdon. Single player The game has a campaign or two for every nation. The game features a day/night cycle which changes the way factions play. The player has a choice to play the campaign scenario or multiplayer game in which they can choose to play one of the four civilizations: Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, Teutons, or Slavs (Saracens with the Saladin’s Conquest DLC). Multiplayer battles can take place on 15 maps prepared for 2, 4 or 6 players (1v1, 2v2 or 3v3). The multiplayer aspect of the game provides Domination and Annihilation choices during which a player can have as many as 10 squads.
